Hurricane Gilma, Tropical Storm Hone Stay on Track
Hone Expected to Impact Hawaii
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued a 5-day forecast track for Hurricane Gilma and Tropical Storm Hone, which remain on track.
Forecast for Tropical Storm Hone
As of 8 pm NOAA, the forecast track for Tropical Storm Hone shows it moving west-northwest toward the Big Island of Hawaii.
At 11 pm, the NHC reported that the forecast for Hone remained on track, and forecasters are confident that it will pass just south of the Big Island.
A satellite image captured by NOAA at 1 pm shows Tropical Storm Hone, whose name is Hawaiian for "sweet and soft," drawing near the islands.
According to the AP, Tropical Storm Hone is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to Hawaii this weekend, particularly to the Big Island.
