Significant Number of Earthquakes in September 2023
According to the National Center for Seismology, a total of 57 earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.0 or greater occurred in India and its neighboring regions during September 2023.
Regional Distribution of Earthquake Activity
Out of the 57 earthquakes, 35 occurred in the North and North-East regions of India. The remaining earthquakes were distributed across other regions as follows:
